Clean Water for Rural Gedo
Build five solar-powered water points so families in Gedo no longer walk kilometres each day for safe water.
The Challenge
Across rural Gedo, families — most often women and girls — walk up to three hours each day to reach water that is frequently unsafe. The time lost keeps girls out of school and exposes households to water-borne disease during the dry season.
The Solution
We will build five solar-powered water points with community-managed maintenance committees, placing safe water within a 20-minute walk for every household in the target villages. Each site includes a storage tank, tap stands and a trained local caretaker.
